Internet and network service provider World Link Communications Limited is set to build data centers in different parts of the country.
The company has stated that it will set up data centers in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lekhnath, Hetauda, Bharatpur, Butwal, Duhavi, Birgunj, Kohalpur, Attaria, Dhalkebar, Surkhet, Bhairahawa and other places within the next three years with an investment of Rs 3 billion.
Speaking at a virtual meeting organized by the company on Thursday, Keshav Nepal, executive director of the company, said that data centers are being set up in different parts of the country with forward thinking for the development of internet.
Dilip Agrawal, managing director of the company, said that the data center will address the concept of digital Nepal taken by the government of Nepal.
“It’s a big effort and we’re going to collaborate with different companies,” he said.
The World is expanding to the villages with the objective of making the Internet accessible to the people by providing world link with Kunakapcha of Nepal.
So far, there are more than 2.6 million users of WorldLink in 454,600 households across the country.
