The government has come up with a plan to make the national identity card mandatory in every service. But like citizenship, this letter is not available immediately. However, if you have your National Identity Card number, you can do the necessary work.
The National Identity Card and Registration Department has suggested a method for those who have not received their National Identity Card number after applying or who have lost the application form, which is as follows:
- Go to the website called Citizen Portal. Click here for this .
- There will be three options. Click on ‘Need more information?

- Now a new interface appears. There are four options. Among them, click on ‘Information about identity card number’. Now, if you have an application number, you can directly enter it, otherwise you can find out the identity card number on the basis of citizenship. You can find the application number in the document that is created while filling the application for the identity card.

- In this process you have to select ‘In case of application number’ and enter the application number, application form and contact number. If you select ‘In case of no application number’, then you have to keep details such as citizenship photo, citizenship number, issue date, district, municipality etc.

- After doing this you will get a token number. Based on which you understand what this process is going on. To understand this, click on ‘Find status of your request’ option.

According to the department, now the national identity card number can be obtained through SMS on mobile phones. If there is any problem, you can contact the department’s phone numbers 01-4200014, 01-4211563, 01-4200894, 16600196666.
