
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has decided to resume the process of collecting voter lists for the upcoming elections. Applications have been opened for the upcoming elections to be held on 21 Falgun, with registration being possible until 30 Kartik.
In this, people who have completed the age of 16 and whose names are registered in the previous voter list will be able to register their names. Similarly, voters who have moved or migrated due to marriage will be able to change their location and correct any errors in their names and other details.
It has been informed that names can be registered by visiting the Provincial Election Office and District Election Office from 8 am to 6 pm, except on public holidays. It has been stated that biometric details should be provided to the Provincial and District Election Office by filling out the pre-registration form online.
How to submit a pre-registration application
For pre-registration, first go to applyvr.election.gov.np . The Election Commission is preparing to launch this system soon. Once this system is operational, you will get the option of new registration and update the list.
If you need to correct your voter list details, select the Update Voter List option. If you have not registered your voter list yet, click on ‘New Registration’.
Now after going there you will have to enter your mobile number. After entering your mobile number, you will receive an OTP from the Election Commission. Now after entering the OTP, go to ‘New Registration’ on the left.
There you will need to select your polling place, citizenship details, citizenship photo, national identity card number, biometrics location, and date.
After filling in all the information and clicking ‘Register’, you will receive a nine-digit submission code. With that code, go to the provincial/district election office you mentioned on the contact date and provide your biometrics.
After biometrics, the commission will approve and publish the final voter list. After that, you can view your voter list on the Election Commission website.
